Hi,
I am planning to spend 2 days in and around Naples, Italy. I want to roam around Naples, Pompeii and Amalfi Coast. What is the best way to travel to these places and Is there a tour that I can take from Naples?

If you travel across to Naples by boat from Sorrento you will be near the start of the hop-on hop-off bus services. The one ticket covers all routes

We have never booked, just paid at the booth by the bus stop. Last time we went the stop was at the other side of the castle from the dock but there is a lot of digging work for the new Metro line going on so it may have moved but just check nearer the time. Have a look at the excavations, they are finding a lot of interesting Roman archaeology.
The tourist office in the front hall of the Foreigners Club in Sorrento should have the latest info.
I'll second the recommendation not to stay in Naples. Avoid it all cost!!!! You can catch a train in Naples which will take you to Salerno. SITA bus stop right outside the station which will take you to all main towns on Amalfi Coast. I'm green with envy. The coast is one of my all time favourite places.
I have to agree, stay in Sorrento.
You have several options:
Ferry from Beverllo Port E6,50
Bus from Naples Capo airport 1hr to Sorrento
E6,00
Circumvesuviana train Naples Central Station
70 min E3,10
this train is also the way you get to Pompeii
with a bus going to Vesuvius
Amalfi coast is availavle by Sita bus
Like Fred, we have stayed in Napoli twice, 2006 and 2008. My wife and I loved it. It is intense and is not for everyone, but the museum is a must see. We stayed one time at the Hotel Ginevra and the second at Hotel Guiren. Both were fine. Take RS's Naples walk and have a Margherita pizza at Antica Pizzeria. You can buy a Compania ArteCard for 25 euros, and it gets you two free entrances, and 50 percent off other attractions. Get the three day, not the one day. It gets you free travel on the Circumvesuviana train to Pompeii, Herculanium and all the way to Sorrento. The link is www.ticketclic.it/Gb/HTML/musei/campaniartecard.cfm
We took the train to Sorrento, then buses to the other Amalfi towns. It is one of our favorite areas to go to in Italy.
I stayed in Naples twice and had a great time. From Naples you can take a short train ride to Pompeii or Ercolano and see the ruins. You can take a hydrofoil to Capri and you can walk to the fantastic Archeological Museum of Naples.
We stayed at a B&B a couple of blocks off Via Toledo near Piazza Carita called I Fiori di Napoli.
Staying in Naples isn't for everyone. I'm sure it's scruffier than Sorrento, and you would spend a whole day getting to the Amalfi Coast and back from Naples.
We toured the Amalfi Coast and stayed in Ravello, Amalfi, Conca di Marino, and Positano. Those are beautiful places and are definitely more like Sorrento than Naples. I'm just saying: don't sell Naples short.
