I will be in Scotland in August (unfortunately not at the same time as your tours). Can you give me the names of reliable tour bus companies that go from Edinborough to Loch Ness and maybe other places in the Highlands? Thank you.

If you're looking for a day trip from Edinburgh... a few years back I went on a tour going through the Highlands, including Loch Ness, with Scottish Tours. It left at 8 am and didn't return until after dark and the tour guide was great. I've recommended them to friends since then. I think that I got their name from one of Rick's books, or maybe from someone here on the Graffiti Wall. They also have multi-day tours.
Coincidentally, I am returning to Edinburgh in a few weeks and looked back on the Scottish Tours web site for a different tour and found their availability / booking facility down. I sent an email and haven't heard back. I am hoping that they are still in business!

Hello. I am going to Edinburgh soon and have also be researching the day trips. I haven't used these companies yet, but I believe they are both mentioned in Rick's books (I don't have the Scotland book handy, so I can't check).
try the Heart of Scotland company or
Rabbie's Tours
