Hello everyone,
My wife and I and another couple are looking to travel from Frankfurt (for other reasons) then tour Switzerland for 4-5 days, then Venice for 2 days before leaving and returning there on a week long cruise, then Rome for 3 days. From Rome our friends will fly home and we'll make our way back to Frankfurt, maybe stopping along the way, but not necessarily. My question is would a car or train be cheaper overall? On the surface the car looks like a good deal ($450 for the rental for the duration) but then there is gas, fees, tolls, parking, insurance, etc. Trains are great but have their own fees and expenses, too. I've driven in many parts of Europe and traveled by train a bit, too, and enjoy them both. Any suggestions for this scenario? Many, many thanks! -Micah
