Toronto airport

I’ve got a flight booked for June…Denver to Halifax through Toronto. Plane change in Toronto with 80 mins to clear customs and make the onward flight. I don’t see any clear advice on airport’s website about the process of connecting (or maybe I’m not reading it right). Is this enough time for this airport? Flight booked all on UA (UA to Toronto and then AC to Halifax). Thanks in advance.

I have to agree with Laurie - 80 minutes could be too tight. Toronto Pearson just doesn't handle customs and security well in my experience (possible understatement !). I just talked to someone more up to speed on the situation and they would not want a connection with less than a two hour window.
The fact that you are asking about the time factor at this stage makes me hope that you still have options to change. If so, I would recommend getting to a US city with direct flights to Halifax. Both Wikipedia and the Halifax airport website (https://halifaxstanfield.ca/flights/non-stop-flights/) have this information.

That is too short in my opinion. Pearson is often a travel nightmare. It has been in the news. I flew home from
Lisbon in November and waited on the tarmac 40 min for a gate and one hour for my bag. Customs and immigration took no time at all. Your bag will not be checked threw to Halifax most likely. They were making announcements about having ti collect bags. If you can fly threw the US it may be better or at least via Montreal or even Calgary would be a better choice. If you can’t change your flights carry on it a must

Thanks to everyone for their advice! I rescheduled our flight through EWR so no customs etc until arrival in Halifax. And a shout out to Wendy who was on the RS Portugal tour with us 🤗
