to Paris having DB German Rail Pass

If I have a German rail pass from DB and I plan to travel from Koblenz to Paris, do I need to buy that route or a portion thereof point-to-point? I see that I can buy the P-P on the DB website, but don't know if I 1) need to buy it or if my pass will cover it, or 2) should buy just the last leg from Saarbruken to Paris. In other words, is any of the Koblenz-Paris journey covered with a German rail pass? If not, it looks like the cheapest thing would be to travel on the pass to Saarbrucken where the train change is and buy the P-P to Paris from there. Thanks!

The German Rail pass will cover your travel in Germany, but not in France. You must buy a ticket for the part of your travel in France. You can buy that ticket at any ticket counter in Germany (Koblenz, for instance), not just in Saarbrücken.

Another option, if you can commit to a specific date and train, might be to get a Europa-Spezial Frankreich ticket from the German Rail website. They can be as low as €29, which would be less than the fare in France. They are date and train specific and have restricted refund or exchange.

Thanks, that answers my question!! I'll either buy the Saarbrucken-Paris portion in Koblenz or ahead of time through DB. Thanks again.
