We are staying at Lake Garda and traveling to Milan for a soccer match on Sunday, May 18th. The match will end late because it begins at 8:45 p.m. What is the best way for us to return to Salo, Lake Garda? Train, bus? We do not have a car. We are traveling with 5 people.

We would rent a car or change your hotel plan. The last train leaves Milano Centrale at 19:35, changes in Verona, and gets to Desanzo del Garda at 21:21. Salo is not served by train, but maybe there are taxis. You can't count on a local bus on a Sunday night. See also How to Look Up Train Schedules Online.

If possible, you should stay overnight in Milan. That way after the game you could hit the bars/pubs with the fans. Assuming you are a big fan of AC or Inter, in the morning you could also do an official tour of the San Siro before moving on. Generally stadium tours don't run on game day, or if they do they are truncated and you don't get to see the whole thing (i.e. into the dressing rooms).
