Tight layover

I am flying on United out of Nashville and I have a tight layover of 1 hour at Washington at Dulles. I've only flown out of DC once, so I don't know how long it normally takes. If my flight is on time, do you think we will have any problems? Thanks!

Piece of cake. You can really hustle around Dulles.

Great. I'm flying in on an Express and heading out on an International flight. I saw there was a shuttle bus and groaned. My experience with shuttle buses involves the Philly airport (caused us to miss a tight connection). Thanks!

United has one very big terminal away from the ticket check-in which you get to by a very frequent shuttle tram (probably 5 minutes between trams). However there is a good chance you will both arrive and depart from this terminal building. international departures are at one extreme end as i recall. Very easy walk- maybe 10 minutes at most. Even if you arrive and depart from different terminals, the shuttle trams are extremely frequent- when you arrive there will be one waiting

Our experience with Dulles is that outbound connections (to Europe) aren't a problem, but inbound connections (from Europe) can be - because of the need to reclaim your bags, go through customs, and then re-check them. A couple times for us the process has been really slow. I wouldn't want a one-hour connection time coming home.

Thanks. You've helped put my mind at ease. I also heard that United had one of the best on time records, so I hope it's the case for our flight!
