Tickets from www.italiarail.com

HI, I am trying to take a night train from either Munich/Innsbruck to Venice (2 adults and 1 child). The train from Innsbruck to Venice seems ideal, but when I try to book listing 2 adults and one child for a 3 compartment berth, the site kicks out an error message saying something such as "age is not compatible with this offer". If I try to book for 2 adult females and 1 adult male for the same compartment (listed as a t3 sleeper) it appears to work just fine to proceed with the booking. Anyone have a clue why this is occurring? And if I do book for 2 adult females and 1 adult mail, will I run into issues on the train?

Many thanks. Traveling Aug 25th and would like to get this nailed down!

What site are you using?

To get a reservation for Innsbruck to Venice, you will have to go to the Austrian Rail website (OEBB.at).

I just tried to get a booking for Munich to Venice on the German Rail website, and I found 2 adults, one child over 6 in an economy 3-berth cabin for €297.80.

Eric, I see the nice City Night Line train from Innbruck to Venice on the Austrian train website (www.oebb.at). Departs at 23:05 and arrives in Venice S.L. at 06:35. Not bad.

Thanks everyone, for the help. Ended up booking the CNL from Innsbruck to Venice. This will give us a chance to see a little of Innsbruck prior to departing. I think it is actually the same train which departs Munich a little after 9pm. When I look at the details of the Munich>Venice trip, it stops in Innsbruck. I will be in Mittenwald earlier that afternoon, so it seems like a bit of back-tracking to go to Munich just to come back down that way. I think Mittenwald>Munich is about 2h by train, while Mittenwald>Innsbruck is only about 1h.

Thanks again
