At Heathrow can we avoid customs and immigration until we reach Edinburgh. We are attempting to make a connecting UK flight tomorrow, Heathrow terminal 1 @0710 arrival via United ground floor, depart British Midland Terminal 1 first floor @ 0840, checked bags thru. I asked this question a few weeks ago and was unclear on this terminal and connecting to UK flight. Thanks you for specific info on this.

After you land at Heathrow, you must pass through Immigration (passport check), and a security checkpoint before proceeding to your connecting gate...no way around it. Customs (stuff you're bringing into the UK) will be in Edinburgh.

The good thing is that both airlines operate out of Terminal 1 so you should be fine.
