Thomas Cook airlines?

Has anyone flown on Thomas cook lately? There are great deals from Orlando to London-gatwick. Should I look elsewhere?

I've flown with Thomas Cook in the past, but not recently, and no complaints. The economy seats were much the same as other airlines in the same class.

Some readers may have flown Thomas Cook across the Atlantic without knowing it. The company also operates Condor which has routes from a number of US and Canadian cities. The company describes itself as a "leisure" carrier, meaning it is aimed at tourists. The name Thomas Cook is one of the oldest in travel, having pioneered European package tours in the mid-1800s.

My S-I-L recently flew Condor ( SEA-FRA) and had no negative comments. Liked it better than Icelandair

Now that Condor Airlines has been mentioned here is my experience. This was a flight from Seattle to Frankfort in late September of this year. For the most part the trip was fine for a budget airline. My problems were these:

In Economy class the choice of free movies was "Stupid Crazy Love" and "Rio". That's it. Compare this with a selection of maybe 30 films offered by Aeroflot from Moscow to Los Angeles. In order to see other movies there was an 8 Euro charge. The woman sitting next to me paid this amount to see "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" which is a few years old. I would not mind paying 8 Euros to see a relatively new release, but not a film that is several years old.

The dinner was what I would call a "starch special". It consisted of two rolls, one of which was really tasty, plus something that looked like meat lasagna. However, it was really a macaroni lasagna - no meat. Plus pudding for dessert. This is probably the lowest quality free dinner that I ever had on an airline.

I would probably book again with Condor given that the ticket price was ok. However, I would be better prepared with carryon food and entertainment.
