Thello train from Venice to Paris

I am trying to book a double compartment from Venice to Paris for a trip next month and the Rail Europe and TrenItalia web sites do not show any available, yet the Thello web site does allow booking of a double compartment. My concern is that the Thello site may not be as up to date, and when I arrive we discover that the double I booked is not in fact available. Is that a valid concern? This trip is a gift to my mom and I would hate for there to be major difficulties with our transportation to Paris. Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

What is the date you plan to leave Venice?

13 June. Simply concerned about the discrepancy, and wondering if perhaps I am missing something on the Thello site since it is only available in French and I am having to navigate using google translate.

Perhaps the Trenitalia site is having one of its "moments." I entered several dummy dates, some before 13 June and some after, and "NA" came up for all of them. I can't guarantee it, but I think that if you succeed in completing the booking process on the Thello site, then you will have nothing to worry about.

Thello.com seems to be having its "moments" now too. I do speak French, but can't find any trains. Even for June 13, Venice to Paris, where Tom say it did show a double compartment (actually the website says the smallest is a 3-person "cabine"), the website ways there is noting at all. "Il ne reste plus de place disponible pour la date de voyage demandée." Try another date, and another, same thing.

Although I love trains (including night trains), at this point I suggest that you book tickets on easyJet for either Marco Polo-CDG or Marco Polo-Orly.

Thank you. I had considered simply going with a flight, but that would require modifying hotel reservations and number of other things. The Thello site is still indicating that a double is available on that date at the "Flexi" rate, as it appears the "Go" rate is sold out, if I am correctly interpreting "Complet" to mean "sold out."

Okay. I just tried the Thello site again and found exactly what you found. The Go fare tickets are "complet" (sold out), but Flexi fare tickets are still available.

So I take it that as long as I can book the compartment on the Thello site all should be kosher when I get to the train station in Venice, even though the other booking sites seem to not show the same availability? If so, I'll book it now. And thank you all for your assistance.

Well that is weird. I could get no results with that website on a PC. Just now tried an iPad and there is no problem.
