I will be traveling from Fussen to Stein am Stein. I have 4 close transfer times, arriving Kaufbeuren platform 2 to platform 1 4 mins , Lindau Hbf platform 7 to platform 8 in 3 mins , Friedrichshafen Stadt platform 3 to platform 3 to 4 in 7 mins,Schaffhausen platform ? to platform 3, and to the stein am rhein. I cannot find the station maps for these four stations. Can anyone tell me where to find the station platfirm maps, or tell me where these platforms are? or any other easy way to go to there? The only one of those stations I've seen is Lindau, but because they are all small, we can probably safely assume they all have the same basic layout. The platforms will run parallel to each other and proceed sequentially. Usually, you access one platform to the next by a tunnel under the tracks. All of the transfer times you listed allow more than enough time for these small stations.

Lots of good research, but make sure to double check when you are actually there!!! For a million-and-one reasons, the platform # might change. I have seen people miss trains many times because they are just not reading.

In my experience, German Rail rarely changes platforms. At Lindau, tracks 7 and 8 are cross platform. Here (www.stationsdatenbank.bayern-takt.de/StationsdatenbankBEG/Steckbrief.html?lang=de&efz=8000230) is the URL for the station. You'll have to cut n paste since it has a '?' in it, and BBC won't let me make a link. In Kaufbeuren (www.stationsdatenbank.bayern-takt.de/StationsdatenbankBEG/Steckbrief.html?lang=de&efz=8000194), tracks 1 and 2 are next to each other but on different platforms, you'll have to change platforms via the tunnel. It's doable in four minutes as long as you are not weighted down with luggage. Be at the end of the car with your luggage ready to get off when the train stops. I have Friedrichshafen in my personal database. Send me a PM with an email address, and I'll send it to you. Tracks 3 and 4 are also next to each other on different platforms but 7 minutes is definitely doable. Schaffhausen is in Switzerland. Can't help you there. Try a Google search. Update: I found the Friedrichshafen station plan on the Bahn website, here, and Schaffhausen on the SBB website, here.
