Wish this article came up two weeks ago. My son booked a trip home on Alaska Airlines in the morning, had his bike stolen in the afternoon and became "cash strapped" very quickly. He called them up and they refused to refund his money. Rather, he had to pay a $150 change fee and they gave him credit for the remainder.

Warren should forward this to his son so he can file a complaint with the DOT. Maybe he'll get his money back.
