The Milan Airport

Milan has two main airports Malpensa (MXP) and Linate (LIN).

In both airports the main car rental companies have high profile desks in the arrivals area.

If you're booked with any major well known rental company like Avis, Hertz, Sixt, Europcar etc. they are in clear view and all the companies are in the same area.

The only difficult ones are the small 'one man band' operators but even then if you agree to hire with them they normally have someone with your name on a board waiting for you.

Annette, are you wanting to pick up or drop off your car in Milan? Both?

Although I'll flying in, I will be meeting three other friends at the train station where we will proceed to rent a car. We are attempting to get a feel for the layout of the airport so that we don't lose too much time.

If you're picking up at Malpensa, the rental car counters are easy to find and the pick up (and drop off) locations are on the ground floor of the parking garage just across the roadway from the terminal.

We are renting a car at Malpensa and returning it at Florence.
