Ha! This was fun - thanks for sharing. I LOLd about the notion of the middle seat being like a cuddle. I have searing memories of involuntarily sharing my seat space, or fending off a five-hour forced chat. (Perhaps seating should be assigned by introvert vs extrovert.) But I agree with those who like airplane food. Alaska Airlines has some good meals these days. It's just like grade school to sit in the tiny chairs and keep your elbows to your sides as you open the little packages...But elevated with the option of adult beverages. Yes to the aisle carts, I say!

”There’s something about airplane food that makes it good,” she said. “You’re only ever going to eat it on a plane.”

I guess that reminds me of the way I feel about camping coffee. I don’t like it anyplace besides around a campfire, and then I will gladly have a refill.

We had our 2nd flight cancelled one year as we were supposed to start our 1st flight home from Rome. So the rerouting flights were just leftover available seats. I was glad sitting in a middle seat from Amsterdam to New York because I was on a plane! : ). It was all just perspective at that point.

Thank you for the laugh. I’m just picturing a 40-year old man trying to calm his 70-year-old mother by explaining the science behind turbulence. I know absolutely nothing about this mother and son, but I feel like I can see her expression and hear her tone when she tells him to shut up! So funny!
