The Flixbus in Europe

Hi Everyone!
I am traveling to Europe for the first time in May and June of this year. I have looked at the several modes of transportation and know for certain I don't want to drive. Recently I saw information about Flixbus in Europe( Megabus in the US)
Has anyone ever used those buses and if so, how was it?
Im flying into London and returning to the US from Portugal. My plan is to use public transport in London, Belgium, Paris, Rome ,Spain and Portugal. I'll be flying from Paris to Rome .
Also any suggestions for cities to visit in Spain and Potugal.

Thanks for your help

I used FlixBus once - for a two hour trip from Ljubljana to Trieste, Italy. The bus was a little late but it was fine and (for a bus) comfortable enough. They are well known and a fairly popular budget option for getting around in Europe.

But I greatly prefer trains to buses when there's a choice. I'd take a bus in Europe only if the train is slower or a lot more expensive. The trains let you get up and walk around, plus I find them very relaxing. Sometimes I don't want train rides to end so soon. On a bus, I just want to get to my destination, perhaps because I'm sick of sitting in my cramped seat.

I'm sure you can use the train to get most of the places you need to go between London and Portgual. Try the website Rome2Rio to find practical tips on getting from one place to another. Also www.bahn.com for European train timetables (www.seat61.com for lots of train info too). If you use FlixBus, I highly recommend you install their app on your smart phone, if you will have a working phone over there; when my FlixBus arrived late, at least their app notified me so I wasn't left wondering where bus was 45 minutes after the scheduled arrival time.

I used Flixbus last spring from Frankfurt airport to Colmar, France, then from Colmar to Karlsruhe. It was really cheap and direct, so I like that. The bus was clean. The one from Frankfurt was right on time. The one from Colmar was quite late, maybe close to an hour. I did appreciate that the app gave me updated estimated times of arrival. Overall, I would use it again for cheap transportation, but I also prefer trains.

I use Flixbus Munich to Salzburg, It covered that distance at the same time as if I took the train but I only paid 5 euros one way.
It is a younger company than Eurolines the other major bus company in Europe so the fleet does not have as much wear and tear,
Flixbus is perfect for the super budget traveler.

It is more fulfilling and efficient for your time and money to get a guide book of some kind and research to see where you are interested in going instead of random suggestions. Most public libraries have them that you can take out multiple different publishers for three weeks at a time.

How long are you there? That is a LOT of territory you are planning to cover.
