The Bus from Avignon to Arles

Hello,
I'm planning on heading from Paris to Arles this July 2009. Was hoping to take a TGV from Paris to Avignon TGV and then take the SNCF bus from Avignon to Arles. Does anyone know if tickets can/should be purchased in advance for this bus? I've only heard it mentioned in the Provence/Riviera book, and haven't found any information online?

Any information on this or alternate routes to Arles would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You don't need to buy bus tickets in advance; but I expect you can buy them in Paris if you so choose.

There are several routes from Paris to Arles, some including the bus and some entirely by train. See the timetables at www.bahn.de. Click on the drop-down flag menu for English. After you get summary timetables for Paris-Arles, click on the arrow to the left of each departure time to see the connecting points.

We bought our tickets the day before. The bus was nearly empty! We went the opposite way from Arles to Avignon to Paris and it was very easy to purchase the ticket at the counter. The bus stops were both right at the train station so there was no confusion.
