I heard it is a 11 hour night train to Madrid?
Would it be better to fly and if so what airline do you advise? Can I book that myself?
Do they leave at all hours of the day?

Close....the sole train, an overnight train, takes about 10 1/2 hours. Buses are available, but they are long runs, too, and at inconvenient times. Low cost Spanish airline vueling makes the run twice a day....in the morning and late in the evening. Cost runs from 35 Euro, depending on how far ahead you book. Definitely worth it to cover the ground quickly.
