I am having trouble understanding the pricing and reservations of the night train. If I purchase a France rail pass does that qualify for the special pass saver price in 1st class in the sleeper car or do I need a France - Italy pass?

Hi Gail, I too will be takeing the Artesia from Paris to Venice in June. I will buy a France-Italy 2nd class ticket. I understand that I need to make reservations pretty far in advance for a sleeper and the cost is in addition to the price of the rail pass.
I will see if I can make make my reservation early April. I believe you can get your info on line or buy your rail pass as I will do, from the Rick Steve's organization and they will answer your questions.
