Thanks to all: Point to Point versus Railpass

Just wanted to thank everyone who advised researching point to point tickets versus getting a rail pass. Total Cost in Canadian Dollars for Amsterdam to Paris, Paris to Fussen, Fussen to Venice (night train), Venice to Florence and Florence to Rome, including reservations and a 4 person Couchette is $650. Total cost for 2 - 5 country, 6 day Saver passes - $1038 plus reservations, plus Couchette, plus shipping costs.

Agree, it is wise to do the math. Exactly what we do before our trips.

Agreed, without this board, I would have spent over $100 more than necessary (not counting reservations) by buying a rail pass!
