Thames Lunch Cruise

I would like to know if anyone has done this and is it worth the money. Time is tight for 4 days to see the things we want to do but would consider this if there are some positive responses. Dinners are out as there are several restaurants and local pubs we would like to go to.

Usually you read how whenever you get food on one of those trips, even in Hawaii, the food isn't very good. That is just our opinion. We did a canal ride during the day and enjoyed it. We took the long canal ride out as far as it went - Hampton Court. Then we took the train back into London. We got an early canal ride. It is recommended in one tour book to do this routing on the Thames. We enjoyed ouselves. We are going back there in three weeks and will do the same canal trip.

I think the "canal" that Elaine is referring to is the River Thames.

Elaine needs to look at a map and see how London connects to Hampton Court.

Shelley. Yes we took the Thames River Boats. It is Thames River Boats Westminiuster Pier, Victoria Embankment, "Westminister to Hampton Court". Tel. 020 7930 2062. You catch it at the Westminister Pier. It is to the left of the Parliament Building when standing out in front. There are a few boats that do the canals. I believe when you go down the steps, it is to the far left of the boat kiosks. As I said, one of the tour books we read recommended that we take the early departure on the canal, as the ride takes most of the day. It is very leisurly. Then plan on taking the train back into London. We are going to Ireland this Saturday. Then we will be going to London for 10 days, starting on June 25. We will do the same canal ride again.
