Thalys/TGV Only Options From Paris to Brussels?

Hi all! I am currently in Paris and was thinking of making a trip to Brussels. Are TGV/Thalys my only options for travel to Brussels or is there a cheaper IC train option available? I'd even be willing to take a bus if it meant a significant savings. Any help would be appreciate. Much thanks in advance for your help.

By train, the Thalys is your only option. By bus, try Eurolines. Return fares later this week are about 40 Euro. The website is mostly in French but pretty easy to follow. Select "Paris Gallieni" as your departure point. Travel time each way is 3:40.

We did the bus. Go to toilet before you leave. You do NOT want to use it on the bus. TAKE MY WORD ON THIS ONE! Trip was cheap doing Eurolines. Booked in advance, around 15E per person. Luggage becomes less of an issue than when flying and taking the train. Take food and some drink (no alcohol) to snack on but do not eat/drink to much - see above. The station is on the outskirts of Paris. You will have to use PC3 -I think- to get to it.
