TGV train from Aix-En-Provence to Barcelona Sants train station

I will be finishing the Eastern France tour in Aix-En-Provence on a Saturday in September 2019, then start the Barcelona/Madrid tour the next day (Sunday). I have looked into TVG to go to Barcelona from Aix-En-Provence. I believe there are two train stations: an Aix-En-Provence TVG FR train station and an Aix-En-Provence Centre FR train station according to Google Map, or am I incorrect in thinking that? I have tried typing Aix-En-Provence Centre FR train station as starting point on the SNCF website and I got an error message.

Has anyone made the trip from the city Aix-En-Provence to this TVG FR train station? Bus? Taxi (how much does it cost, how long does it take)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I don't think I want to go the air plane route from Aix-En-Provence to Barcelona.

I recently finished that same tour and took the TGV train from Aix. It was a 42 euro taxi ride from the hotel (split with others from the tour who were also going to the TGV station). I also read that you can take a bus or train (can't remember which off the top of my head) from the station in the city to the TGV station - the in-town station is a short walk from the hotel. But the taxi was very easy and he came right to the hotel to pick us up. Ask the group if anyone else is going so you can share a taxi.
Enjoy the Eastern France tour - it was terrific!!

On Oui.sncf, you usually only have to type as far as "Aix" before the acceptable stations appear on a pull-down menu. You don't need to type FR, for one. Since your train will leave from the TGV station, you can search and buy the ticket from there. The two train stations are connected by bus number 40, from the bus station/gare routiere.

“FR” just means France and isn’t necessary — it’s only showing up on Google.

As Laura said, when you are on the oui.sncf site, just type in “Aix” — ignore Aix-en-Chappelle and Gresy-Aix — and even ignore Aix-En-Provence Centre — click on Aix-en-Provence TGV.

Then for the return just type Barcelon and Barcelona will come up.

Then you put in the estimated date and rough start time (I.e. say 8 am or 3 pm or whatever) and the system will show you what trains are available.

The site says that the Aix TGV station is 18 kilometers from the city center.

The direct train takes a little less than 4 1/2 hours. Some of the ones that require a change take about 6 1/2 or longer, so take a look at the various options available (look at earlier or later train departure times).

The bus from Aix to the TGV station is easy and cheap (4.30 euro). Place your luggage in the hold underneath, then buy your ticket from the driver onboard.

Yes, there are frequent buses from the long-distance bus station in Aix (slightly out of the old centre) to Aix TGV station. Most of them go on to Marseille Airport afterwards.
