Just a quick check...we take the train from Luzern to Basel SBB to catch the TGV to Paris...I assume the TGV trains take off from the tracks at the same station?? I see the track we arrive on from Luzern but no track for the TGV departure.

The TGV trains use the same station. If memory is holding up, the TGV trains use special platforms in a different corner of the station.....but all in the same building.

The TGVs are not using 30-36, the SNCF station. A couple of weeks ago they were on platform 5 in the SBB station.
