I am attempting to book a night train from Florence to Paris in Aug. All is going well, as I pretend I am from Canada, but when I get to check out, it only allows me to mail the tickets. Am I missing a step, so that I might print them out at home or pick them up there.
Sorry, I know this is probably a basic question.
The problem is that you're beginning your trip in another country. The print-out and pickup tickets are only available for certain fare classes....and night trains coming in from another country are not in that category. Unless you have a friend with an address in Canada, your other option would be to book on Trenitalia, the Italian rail company. But Americans have had a singlar lack of success getting their credit cards to work. So the only possibility seems to be RailEurope, italiarail or railrocket=italy.....unfortunately, you'll pay a higher price.
