TGV Prices?

I had trouble buying our train tickets the other night on the TGV-Europe site. (I had to call the card company) Now, when I went back to buy them after speaking to my card company the price is 99 euros higher. Do the rates fluctuate at all, or is this the best price I'm going to get now? I have 12 days before departure.

Discounted tickets are limited based on the train, travel date and other circumstances. When the limited tickets have been purchased, they are gone. You then see the higher fares. This is why we recommend that you buy your discounted tickets at least 90 days in advance when they become available. By the time you travel, all discounted tickets will most likely be gone. With only 12 days left before travel, it's possible that this is what you are experiencing.

The rates do not fluctuate. I expect that when you originally tried to book your tickets there still were some discount fare tickets left. In the time that passed the allotted number of those tickets probably sold out, leaving you with only higher fare tickets left. With only 12 days left until departure I'm surprised that you didn't find only full fare tickets left to begin with.
