Hi there, I have been trying to book a TGV from Paris to Nice for a few weeks and even though I see search results when I try and confirm it's not possible... The date I am looking at is 12th July - does anyone know why the TGV isn't open for sale? Thanks!
What website are you using? (I won't be able to help, but that information will be crucial to those who can.)
I just went to the TGV-europe.com site and put in your travel date, and while a couple of the departures are sold-out most others still have tickets available. You are talking about July 2013 right? If you mean July of 2014, you can't purchase ticket until 90 days before departure.
I was using Loco2 to search. I just used the SNCF route and it seems there are no direct trains...
All the trains are direct. http://tgv-europe.com
A lot of the direct trains were sold out and so then I was looking at trains with changes at Marseille. It looks like if one portion of the journey is sold out (Paris to Marseille or Marseille to Nice) then it shows the indirect trains as being sold out too, fyi!
Here's what I'm seeing for your departure date via tgv-europe.com: http://gyazo.com/d43869f21a9a02b503e98ab7be365291 http://gyazo.com/6206902cc2eaf53c824f49fe55b9074e Out of 15 direct trains to Nice only 4 are sold-out. There are lots of other trains to choose from.
Thanks Michael that's super helpful!
