TGV from CDG to Basel/Mulhouse

Can you take the TGV from Charles de Gaulle (CDG)to Basel Switzerland? I have found that I can take the TGV from Paris Est that has trains about every 2 hours. But I cannot find one directly from CDG to Basel/Mulhouse.

Does anyone know if there are such trains? Or will I have to take the RER to Paris Est and catch a train from there?

Awesome .. Great and thanks. I see that we will be transferring in Paris Est anyway. But this helps. Thanks

Adding to what Steve said, unless the schedule for direct TGVs from CDG to Strasbourg doesn't fit your flight arrival time, you don't have to depart from Gare de l'Est to get to Basel.

For timetables I like the German rail site, www.bahn.de. Enter Aeroport Paris-Charles de Gaulle TGV as your departure point and Basel as your arrival point. After you get summary timetables, click on the arrow to the left of each departure time to see the connecting points. There is a direct CDG-Strasbourg TGV at 10:42 and another one at 12:54. As Steve said, take a regional train from Strasbourg to Basel.

Remember though that the walk from Gare du Nord to Gare de l'Est is only five or ten minutes: no need to worry about metro/bus/taxi unless you're very infirm or have very heavy luggage.

Thanks everyone .. I have also found out that I can take a train right from CDG on the TGV to Strasborg then change trains in Strasborg to the RE right into Basel

This site is AWESOME .. who needs other travel sites when you can get advise from those who have been there.

Thanks
