tgv-europe question

Can you book italian trans on the site ie: venice-florence? When I put it in there is a warning that states "this is a foreign train and prices for information only" yet it appears to allow me to process and book the seats?

No, it is only for trains that originate in France. For Italian trains, use the Italian rail service website. As you're in Canada they probably will accept your credit card (they don't accept US cards, it's hit and miss for Canada it seems).

bluedenim,

Why don't you just book the tickets once you arrive there? It's much easier and probably cheaper than pre-booking them on the net.

There are FREQUENT trains on the Venice - Florence route, and if you buy the tickets for your outgoing journey when you arrive in Venice, you shouldn't have any problems (especially as you're at the station anyway).

Cheers!

Well alot of it is not so much my concerns but rather my partners concerns....
Good to know. I plan to try and book the night train on the italian site anyway and hope that it takes our CC and then pick the tickets up at the station.
I would just wait until I arrived in Italy to book the italian train but my partner wants to have it all done before heand.
