Is it possible for me to order train tickets from TGV-Europe? Tickets on this site are much cheaper than other sites I've checked, including Rail Europe. When I try to purchase tickets on TGV-Europe, it only gives me the option to have the tickets mailed (no email or pick-up-at-the-station options), but entering a USA address doesn't seem to be an option (US isn't an option from the country drop-down box). I feel like I must be missing an obvious step somewhere. Any tips?
On the page I just looked at it asks "Ticket collection country" not your country of residence. When I used France it gave me all of the options, including d-ticket.
Thank you!
It is not only possible, you can even print your tickets out at home just after your purchase. I've tried both France and Great Britain on www.tgv-europe.com and I don't see any difference between the two. The important thing is to not choose U.S.A. as your ticket collection country as you will be switched to RailEurope. I've used Great Britain for quite some time and it works well. Don't worry. Since you can print out your tickets at home, you won't be going to Great Britain to get your tickets. If you are looking up to 90 days out, you can get some great fares.
Keri, I just now booked and paid for two sets of tickets. 1. tgv-europe.com; use "France" as your home country and "France" as your pick-up country... don't fret, as soon as the order is paid for they'll send you an email with the tickets... you just print them off at home... just like they do with some airline tickets. 2. find your routes, times, etc and complete all the steps/ info
3. Pay. Take the time to double check everything... cause when you submit payment, they're yours. Easy cheesy, have a great trip!
