TGV.com versus SNCF

I had understood that these two sites were functionally equivalent, as long as you told TGV that you were in the UK.

However, I have been trying out some dummy purchases this morning, and the TGV site, which redirects to RailEurope.uk, does not offer the discount fares available through SNCF for the same train.

These are regular fares, not the inflated fares you'd get fro RailEurope.com (if the train was listed there at all). But no PREMS or discouts for children, etc.

Is this the expected result? Right now it looks as though the SNCF site is the only comprehensive one.

Adam,

I think the problem is that you are using www.tgv.com rather than www.tgv-europe.com. Go to the latter site and choose Great Britain as your country of residence and you will not be bumped to the raileurope.uk site.

Hmmm....I've never been kicked over from tgv-europe.com to RailEurope's UK site when I've booked in as Great Britain. I just ran thru a dummy booking now Paris-Nice and got the PREMs fare to come up. At what stage is this happening to you?

"At which stage...?" When I click UK, it bumps me to RailEurope.uk.

Hmm, I wonder if it's cache/cookies, browser issue? Lets see:

Nope, the same thing happens.

I've been looking at TER and Corrail routes, not TGV.
