Can anyone give me information on the best way to get to the cruise pier from Termini Station in Rome? Would it be better to take the train to the airport and get the cruise line transfer to the ship?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
It would not be better to take the train to the airport and then retain a private transfer. Instead, take the train right from Roma-Termini to Civitavecchia. This is where you will board the ship. The cruise dock is about 5-6 blocks from the entrance to the docks. You can see a great description with pictures on how to do this on www.roninrome.com.
Thanks Larry.
Paula, we have gone from Termini to the cruise port and back several times. Very easy if you travel light and are not loaded down with luggage. Not more than 15 Euros for two people vs 135 for a car service. Do check out the roninrome site mentioned earlier -- great info and I think there may even be a video but not sure. TC
Far, far faster to take the train from Termini. It is a commuter run with three to four trains hours taking from 45 mins to 1:15 depending on the train. Cost range is about 4 to 12E depending on the train. When your exit the station look to your right - probably see your cruise ship. About half mile walk along the beach to the entrance to the port and a shuttle bus take you from there to your ship's check in. Very easy to do and you will have lots of company doing exactly the same thing.
