Taxis from Barcelona port to Sants or Passeig de Gracia train station

We will arrive in Barcelona at the port and want to take a train either from Sants or Passeig de Gracia to Gerona. What should we expect for taxi fares for this trip across town? We will have 2 large suitcases containing our bikes, a bike support rolling bag and our backpacks. I'm thinking that going to Sants, even though it's further, might be less confusing that Passeig de Gracia since that station is also part of the metro. It would be easier to travel with our bikes assembled (then everything goes into the trailer), but most trains to Gerona seem to be AVE, which won't allow bikes as is, so we'd have to re-pack them. We've used metros with all of our gear, but my husband had his wallet taken (basically empty) by Pros in the Athens metro from the airport, so we're a little hesitant when we have so much stuff (we wear money belts, etc.) Any advice on taxis and navigating the train stations? Are there any better places to get our Tarifa Dorada (senior discount) card than the train station? I think we both need to be at the counter with ID to do that, which feels more vulnerable - usually one watches bags, one deals with ticket counters.

Taxis in Barcelona are pretty cheap. We just returned from there and took a few taxi rides. Seems like all of them were cheaper than we expected. However, we were not carrying all the gear you will have and we were traveling within town, not starting from the port so the fares might be higher due to your starting point.
