does anyone have info. as to the best taxi/shuttle service from Rome city Centre (Hotel) to the Civitavecchia docks on June 10th?
Do you rally want to take a taxi as the train system would work fine and much much more economical. You can go to Civitavecchia and get all the directions on line.
Any car service from Rome would be 100 to 150 Euro. Is that what you want. The train station in Civit is less than mile from the port entrance and most time it is hard to get a cab for less than a mile. This question is frequently asked and used. Plug Civit... in the search box for lots of responses/
The train to Civitavecchia is sooo much less expensive and it runs frequently. As Frank mentions, the port is about 5-6 long blocks from the port entrance. From the port entrance, there is often a bus that will take you to the ship.
We have made that trip four times. We always walk because we find that the bus is inconvenient. It is a small bus -- maybe 20/30 people -- and the line is long. There will always be lot of people coming via train especially if more than one ship is in port which is generally the case. But the walk is pleasant, flat, along the beach. Mostly likely you can see your ship from the train station so you cannot get lost and there will be a steady flow of people headed in that direction.
