I plan to end my "business" trip at Lindau, Germany and after that I am using some of my vacation days to tour Austria.
However, all the direct trains I want to take start from Bregenz which is like 15 min drive from Lindau. Can I take a taxi from Lindau, Germany to Bregenz, Austria? Is that possible since it involves border crossing?
There is nothing to stop a taxi driving you across the border. There are no border controls, just a sign beside the road, as both countries are in both the Schengen Area and the EU.
But, why get a taxi? There are trains from Lindau to Bregenz. Just get a train from Lindau to connect with your Austrian train in Bregenz.
Thanks for the response.
The distance between Lindau train station and the place where I drop off my rental car is almost the same as the distance to Bregenz train station, that's why :-)
