This is the first time in the last year that anyone has asked about taking a taxi from Bellagio to Malpensa--and so it will be interesting to see if anyone knows the answer to your question. The distance is about 70 miles if one is driving a rental car and takes about 1hr45min (this is not the straight line distance but is the route selected by Viamichelin.com as the fastest route). That sounds like an expensive taxi but perhaps you are sharing the ride? Most people take the ferry to Varenna and then train to Milan and bus to Malpensa; or ferry to Como and then the airport shuttle bus to Malpensa. In 2006 a taxi from Stresa to Malpensa was about €90, let's say €100 in 2008; but Stresa is significantly closer to Malpensa than is Bellagio. If the Bellagio taxi cost was roughly 1.5 times the Stresa taxi, that would put it at roughly €150 or $240, just a wild guess. Let's see if anyone has done this in the last year or two.

We met a couple in Varenna who were staying in Bellagio--I believe that someone at their hotel told them that it would be 150 Euro to take a taxi from Bellagio to Malpensa (a great estimate Kent!) They decided to take an early morning ferry from Bellagio to Varenna. Then walk from the ferry dock to the train station in Varenna, they planned to take the train to the Central station in Milan and then the bus from Milan's train station to Malpensa--not quite a complicated as it sounds and a lot less money than taking a taxi. They had a flight at noon.

Harvey, my sister got married (2 years ago) at Lake Como, in the town of Dunco (?)... so its farther than Bellagio.

Rather than hiring a taxi to take us back, she hired a car for us for a flat fee.

I believe I paid $90 euros for a one way trip back to the airport, and there were 3 of us. With tip I gave a flat 100.

Now, that was 2 years ago.

If you have the time, its cheaper to take the train back, which drops you off at the airport
