Tap Portugal refundable tickets

Hello,
We are looking at airfare for next May (i know some are reluctant to plan travel in 2021). I noticed Tap Portugal has some good deals going on. Usually I'd take advantage of the cheaper tickets but with a toddler, I prefer to have my seat assignment and choice in advance. I noticed with their classic fare, the tickets are refundable but with a fee. When I read into the rules, it states the fee is $160 per ticket. I just wanted to make sure this is correct. I've seen where many are having an issue getting a refund due to COVID but Im assuming thats because the tickets were nonrefundable. I just want to be sure that if travel is stil restricted during our time frame that I can get a refund after paying the fee

Thanks!
Amanda

I have TAP flights (Classic fare) for November that I won't be using. I called recently to check how it works and the phone agent confirmed that if I cancelled, I'd just lose the $160CADpp and get the rest back on the card that paid for the tickets. Actually she said $145, don't know why. I wonder if that is the US fee and $160 is the CAD?? I haven't yet cancelled. She seems to think it might not go and then I'd get the full cash back, but I doubt it. They are running all their Tuesday flights to Lisbon from Toronto right now.

I wouldn't book any flights with TAP Air right now. There are many people who's flights have been canceled that are having trouble getting refunds. I am one of them. The phone numbers that they give don't work. They don't respond to messages. If you are one of the lucky ones that actually do get through you are promised a refund within 30-40 days and then you wait for several months and still don't have a refund. I suggest you check out TAP AirPortugal Refunds on Facebook.

D, thanks for your response. Im sorry you're still waiting on a refund. We've decided to wait a few more months to see if travel looks optimistic for the spring.
