Hi, We are flying with our 3 older children from Miami to Barcelona next summer. TAP air seems to be the least expensive. Just wondering if anyone has taken a flight with them. If so how was your experience? Thanks very much!
I flew with them from Bologna to Lisbon in 2004. Not a problem.
My wife flew back to the US from Lisbon on them last year and was very impressed--better food and much more space in coach than on our good friend DL or CON.
I flew with them in the fall of 2009, but it was only between Spain and Portugal. It was fine. The planes were older, but that's not unusual for those types of shorter flights. I did have problems booking on their website though. It would take me right up to the payment page and then hang up. So, I had to book it through Expedia.
We flew transatlantic with TAP. We had an empty seat between us. It was great to stretch out. They might have changed since 1984.
Flew with the 2 years ago for my Heathrow-Lisbon flight, and they were fine - older planes with fewer amenities, but good service and no technical problems.
I flew TAP 3 times in March this year. All great experiences. Very nice airline. Flight attendants dressed the way they did in the 60s-hats, scarves-that sort of thing. I flew 2 domestic flights in economy-Lisbon to Madrid and back to Lisbon. Lots of leg room. Then flew first class from Lisbon to London. Flight attendants provided excellent service and there English is superb for a non-English speaking country!
TAP is usually pretty nice, but a little more expensive (or seems to be) than SATA. You can find SATA's prices on their specific website. Good luck!
