Hello - We're planning our first trip to France in May of 2020. Plan is to fly from Boston to Marseille, rent a car and head north through Provence, Chamonix, Burgundy and end in Paris. Then fly home from Paris. Looking for flights now. Seeing that TAP Air is far and away the lowest cost option with a layover in Lisbon before ending in Marseille. Online reviews from other sites seem positive overall for TAP. Would love to hear the reviews from the folks here on this site. Thanks.
Several years ago we flew TAP Air from Porto to Madrid and it was fine. No complaints. I would use them again for short flights. That said, I have read several reviews since on this site from those who travelled internationally. There were mixed reviews.
Used them last fall to fly Lisbon-Heathrow, no complaints.
Flew them two weeks ago from Marseille to São Paulo, very good experience throughout - helped by brand new plane on transatlantic leg. Food was average at best, though.
Lisbon Airport itself is ok: easy to navigate, but the use of remote stands instead of jetbridges is frequent, so bus transfers ensue.
I used TAP Air three years ago Boston to Lisbon and Porto back to Boston. The flights were uneventful. Everything went smoothly.
We flew them twice in going and coming from Sicily in 2017. No complaints.
Last month I flew from Geneva to Lisbon on TAP and I can only describe it as a "budget" flight. On the other hand, I talked to people who flew from Tel Aviv and loved it, said the plane was very comfortable with all the amenities. My conclusion is that long flights are on better planes.
