I have a room at Mont St. Michel and now need to book my round trip train/bus reservation from Paris. I found a schedule on the SNCF. Can I reserve and pay for this online here in USA and then pick up my ticket at a train station in Paris? Is it an e-ticket that I can print out online? The Paris-Rennes leg of the trip is on a TGV train so I have to reserve ahead. How does this work? Since it is in France they could not make the reservation on the German website. Suggestions, please. I leave for Europe on Sept. 18, 2010. Carolyn

Go immediately to tgv-europe.com (the new international website for the SNCF) and book your tickets there. Keep telling it you live in Great Britain or Canada to avoid being kicked over to the RailEurope website. You'll be able to pick up the tickets at any train station...bring the card you used to pay for it. The tickets will include any necessary reservations. At this late date, you may end up paying full fare of about 60 Euro each way. For future reference, you can get major deals by booking up to 90 days in advance...it could have been as low as about 28 euro.
