Taking the Roissybus or Air France Bus into Paris

Has anyone ever taken this bus into Paris? I'm arriving Sunday Sept 25 at 6:55am (fingers crossed my flight comes in on time) and I'm staying in Rue Cler. The directions my hotel have listed require me to take RER B and then 2 different Metro changes, the 4 to the 8. Or I could take this bus and then take the metro from Opera to Ecole Militaire. I plan on only having a carry on size suitcase so I wont have to wait for my baggage when i arrive at CDG. Is it time saving taking this as opposed to the RER B and the 2 metro changes?

With only one suitcase and coming in on a sunday morning I would take the RER B and do the 2 metro changes. At this time in the morning there will be few people on the train/metro. The AF bus runs q 30 minutes and will cost more with some savings if you buy a round trip ticket. In addition you will need to buy a metro ticket if you take the bus.

With all respect to Byron and his reply, I prefer the Roissybus. I have taken the RER and the Roissybus, and I find the Roissybus much less stressful when I'm already tired. The road traffic should be very light on Sunday morning, so it will get to Paris quickly. When the bus arrives at the Opera, go around to the front of the opera house and look for the metro stop.

I'm with Nancy. I've done both and like taking the bus, especially on a Sunday morning when traffic is light.

Another vote for the Roissybus which I have taken several times.

thanks for the info, so is it safe to say that the quickest way into Paris from CDG is the bus or am I wrong on that?

The fastest way into Paris is the RER unless it is early in the morning on a weekend. The RER has an express line which bypasses a lot of stops on the way into Paris. This is especially important when going to the airport. I do like taking the AF bus when my hotel is near the drop off point. Paris freeway traffic and tunnels can be bad like LA freeways.

Miranda, you'll be traveling somewhere around 8:00am on a Sunday morning; I don't anticipate any traffic troubles on the surface streets. The price is the same, the travel time is about the same, but the scenery is quite different - I vote for RoissyBus. Plus, you only have one metro line to bother with. It's a pain to have to go up and down ALL of those stairs with luggage on your arrival day just to transfer from one metro line to another. When you arrive at the Opera Garnier, go to the front of the building; in the traffic island there is the metro entrance (it may be covered with construction plyboard...). Look for Line 8 DIR: Balard and get off at Ecole Militaire. From the Paris airports website...click through to the RoissyBus info page, then click on 'Consult the fares, etc.' to see a photo of the bus - there are many different buses at CDG, and you'll be tired, so every little bit helps! http://www.aeroportsdeparis.fr/ADP/en-GB/Passagers/Access-maps-car-parks/Paris-CDG/Access/public-transport/public-transport.htm
