taking a group of 10

Taking a group of 10 ~ Paris, Wengen, Fuessen, Salzburg, Venice ~ would this be less hassle (and $$) to do passes or point to point tickets ~ I've looked on the bahn websites and am having a hard time finding exact fares. Thanks for taking the time to reply!!

"having a hard time finding exact fares" Std Fares on the Bahn website might vary depending on the routing, type of train (ICE/IC/Reg), etc. To see the exact routing, from station to station, click on the '>' symbol on the LH end of the connection. That will show you train changes. To see actual routing of a particular train, click on the train number. There are also Savings Fares, which are for train-specific, non-refundable, advance purchase (3-92 days). Those will be lower. Understand that Savings Fare tickets are limited in quantity at each level and do sell out. You can only buy for 5 people at a time. By the time you buy the second block, it might not be as inexpensive. There are also discounts for group over 5, but they depend on the number of adults, number of children 6-14, number under 6. For example, for 10 adults, Singen (near Bodensee) to Fuessen could be €19,30 per person. Also, remember that children under 15 travel for free on German Rail trains if with a parent or grandparent.

I know some on this site are excellent mind readers but little addition information would be greatly appreciated. Ages, time etc.

@ Frank: Our group is consisted of ages: 55,31,24,20,19,19,18,17,12 ~ and we will be traveling in May. @ Lee: Do kids under 15 get free passage on trains in France and Italy also?? That info was a great help, as I was trying to decide about selectpass youthpass or point to point. Thanks to you both for taking the time to help!

maybe there are two 55"s? Lee, would a Bayern ticket-or rather 2 Bayern tickets-do them any good for part of their journey? Swiss border to Fuessen, or Fuessen to the border going to Salzburg? The under-15 hchild is also free in Switzerland on a Family Card if one parent has any type of Swiss pass.

"would a Bayern ticket-or rather 2 Bayern tickets-do them any good" Swiss border to Füssen depends on where (and when) they cross the border. At Lindau, yes. Near Singen, no. That is in Baden-Württemberg. Two Baden-Württemberg-tickets and two Bayern-Tickets, maybe, or probably a Quer-durchs-Land-Ticket. On a weekend day, a Schönes-Wochenende-Ticket.
