Switzerland 2 for 1 swiss saver pass for 4 days

I see there is a fall 2 for 1 special for 4 days of either saver pass or flex pass train tickets. Since we will be traveling for 8 days can anyone see why I couldn't buy 2 of these tickets to extend to 8 days. I assume the date doesn't start until validated in Switzerland?

Nancy , We will be traveling in early october exactly as you are and had the same question . We did in fact buy 2 four day passes to use consecutively for 8 days We purchased them here on Rick.s site where they confirm that doing this is ok . After costing out the traveling we will do during the eight day period , buying the passes was a really good deal !!!

Yes you can do this. Just don't have your two passes activated on the same day. Activate one, use one for 4 days and then activate your second one when ready on day 5 or later.

But are you sure you need full Swiss Pass coverage all eight days? Are you traveling major distances each day, or mainly staying in one or two places and riding lifts or doing short day trips from there? If the latter, you might do just as well with one 4-day Flex pass per person, $140 each instead of 2x $121 ($242). The Flex Pass gives you additional days at 50% off, including lifts like the Schilthorn, plus boats, trains etc., without using up one of your four covered days. So you could, for example, use Day 1 of a Flex Pass to travel to Mürren, where you might be spending 4 days. The next day you go up the Schilhorn at 50% off- - - the same discount you would get using a Swiss Pass covered day. Say the next day you make a day trip to Luzern or the Ballenberg museum: use Day 2 of your pass. Then you go up the Jungfrau: the Flex Pass will cover 50% of the inexpensive journey to Wengen, and from there will offer the same coverage as the Swiss Pass does. Say you go to Montreux next: use Day 3 on your Flex Pass. Visit Chateau de Chillon by train, walk back, and take a boat ride, 50% off. Use your last day ( Day 4) on the flex Pass to travel back to Zurich or Geneva for a flight, or to reach the border if you are going to Italy or France.
