We have the Swiss Pass that we are planning on using the last day to take us from Lake Brienz to Paris...looks like we need to go through Basel...how will the pass work? Do we get credit up to the boarder and then just pay from the boarder to PAris? How do we figure that out? Or do we just use the pass to Basel and then buy a ticket to Paris?
To save money you need to purchase your TGV tickets well in advance (90 days allowed) via the Swiss Rail site: http://rail.ch. Simply purchase your TGV tickets from Basel to Paris, and use the Swiss Pass for the trains to Basel. There are direct trains from Interlaken to Basel.
Doesn't the Swiss site charge crazy handeling fee's? We are leaving in 2 weeks so not enough time to have anything mailed to us... we will be in Italy for 2 1/2 weeks before hitting Switzerland..we see a discounted rate but they won't let you book more than 30 days out..
They will give you the option of either printing the ticket out at home or picking it up at any train station in Switzerland. No additional handling fees unless you want them to overnight it to you.
