If I a buy a Swiss Flexi pass, do I still need to pay an additional amount of money for making reservations from point to point? Or can I just hop onto any train showing the pass?
We we did not need reservations at all last year using the Swiss Pass.
We just hopped on whatever train we wanted and showed the pass to the conductor as he came through.
We did have first class passes but I don't it matters.
We did not take any scenic trains and traveled mainly between Lauterbrunnen, Interlaken, Zurich - all cities with regular train service.
The only trains in Switzerland that really require reservations are special scenic trains like the Glacier Express or the William Tell Express. If you are not taking special trains, you need not worry about reservations to get anywhere.
