Does anyone know if there is a cost difference buying the Swiss Pass on line vs buying them at the Zurich airport train station? Thank you

Tim is correct. Just wait till you get to Zurich airport, there is a train ticket station that will take the time, IF you have a thought out itinerary and advise you what type pass is most economical. Very easy....don't stress about it. It works well. Oops, didn't realize we answered before.

The airport train station is beneath the airport terminal area. Just take the elevator or escalator down. It's great and not really too busy in our experience. Buy your Swiss pass or card there before buying your other tickets, buy the tickets you need and off you go.

The airport train station is beneath the airport terminal area The train station is located beneath the shopping complex which is across the street from the main terminal. It will be more a bit expensive to purchase the Swiss Pass at the train station when you arrive. At the train station a 4-day second class Swiss Pass costs 272chf which works out to 293USD. But purchasing the same pass from this site (click the rail passes tab above) the very same pass costs $286USD with free shipping.
