Swiss Pass coming from Milan

HI,
This July, I am looking to ride the regional train on the Bernina line. I will be traveling from Milan to stay in Pontresina for a couple of days. I would like to know if I buy they Swiss Pass, will it cover my train/bus rides from Milan. It looks like I have to go from Milan to Lugano and then to Tirano to get on the Swiss train to Pontresina. Thank you

There are direct trains from Milan to Tirano every 2 hours and they are only 11.05 euro. If you want a Swiss Pass, it only starts at the first station outside of Switzerland, in this case, Tirano.

A Swiss Pass will cover the Bernina Express bus from Lugano to Tirano, but you must pay the 12 CHF reservation fee, and that is the slow way to go. The train to Tirano is faster and costs about the same as the reservation fee for the Bernina Express bus.

Thank you for your replies. Somehow I missed that you can go directly to Tirano. Will look at that option.
