Swiss Junior Card

Does a Bernese Oberland Pass allow a family to purchase the Junior Card for children? The latter is CHF 30 and seems like a very good bargain, but the Swiss sites are not clear on this point.

A Berner Oberland Pass for children 6 to 16 costs 116 CHF. They do not mention a Family Card or Junior Card (which is for Swiss people). Why not consider a Half Fare card or flex pass (saver), both of which offer the free Family Card for kids?

The Junior Card is not just for Swiss Families...it's for any family that shows up with kids in Switzerland and doesn't already have the free Swiss Family card. I purchased the Junior Card on my very first trip to Switzerland. Next times we had the free Swiss Family Card.

Tim, Do you thus know if the Berner Oberland Pass allows one to buy the Junior Card for children?

I stand corrected. The Junior Card is for families who did not purchase one of the Swiss Travel System passes or cards that offers a free Family Card. But it works the same, offering free travel for kids when traveling with their parents. So it should work with the Berner Oberland Pass, but Daryl is correct that the website does not say so.

Daryl, The BO Pass has no bearing on your ability to purchase a Junior Card...anyone can purchase it. You probably are asking me if the Junior Card will work in combination with you having the BO Pass. Yes, as long as you have any valid ticket on any Swiss Transport your child can go with you for free with the Junior Card (or free Swiss Family Card). Lola is correct - they both work identically.
