Swiss Flexipass vs Berner Oberland Pass

In May-June we are coming on train from Prague to Basel SBB, staying 5 days in Berner Oberland area, flying home from Geneva. Swiss Flexipass- 1) is a "month" 30 days or a calendar month as we will be there end of May, 1st wk of June? 2) does it cover train 100% from Basel to Interlaken & then from Interlaken to Genova? 3) we will do all the tourist things including visiting all the villages, should I get the 4 or 5 day pass? 7 day BO Pass-cheaper than flexipass but doesn't cover trains in-/out,& I'm not sure if 100% on 3 days, 50% on 4 will really save more than flexipass. Which pass do you recommend? Thanks Fran

The swiss flex or Saver pass included a free trip to and from the Zurich/Geneva airport. Which can be well over 100$ if you have one end to the other. Id get the flex and if you have a few short trips pay the 10$ or so and save the 3-4 days for long expensive train rides. ALso rememebr some of the privite mountain lines only give you discount (not free). so check ricks book for those in the BO.

An easy trick is just divide the days by the price - and if your ticket price is more than that - use that day. If its a small hop trip to a nearby town - pay cash and save Rail Pass day for another.

I generally do best with the 3-day FlexPass which fully covers three selected days and then works as a half-fare card for the other days (but only between the first and last days you use it for full-far coverage).
