Swiss Cards use? Germany to Switzerland

Hello! I will be traveling around Europe in June with my grandmother and mother. Right now, part of our itinerary looks like this: Vienna > Salzburg > Munich > Luzern > Lauterbrunnen > Paris I'm definitely thinking we'll get the Half-Fare Swiss Card in Switzerland (not sure yet if the full swiss saver card is a better deal). However, does that cover our trains into and out of the country? ie: Munich to Luzern & Lauterbrunnen to Paris? Does anyone have recommendations on the cheapest, most efficient ways to do this? Thanks in advance!

The card or pass will kick in at the border but will not help with the portions of the trip in Germany and France. You are probably better off buying discount tickets wellmin advance on Bahn.de for Munich to Luzern (I saw prices as low as 39 euro and Lee may know how to get better than that). For Lauterbrunnen tomParis, buy on the Swiss site SBB.ch or buy the French portion on TGV. You'll have to compare prices to find the best. If you have the card you could use it to travel as far as the border ( Basel) and buy a TGV ticket from there.
